ACT 1 — THE LOST THREAD (0:00 – 10:00)
Flashback: Ben Soto’s life before becoming Scatter.
- Once a brilliant multitasker and creator, Ben juggled jobs, side hustles, and delivery driving. Loved learning, but couldn’t finish anything. His computer files are full of half-finished designs and prototype apps.
- Had a promising design job interview he missed because he was helping his cousin move, then remembered a freelance gig halfway through.
- On the night of the Rift: driving deliveries, obsessively refreshing his notes app. Tries to finish one idea but keeps switching.
- The Rift hits mid-scroll. His mind fractures. The scattered pieces take over. Scatter is born.
ACT 2 — PUZZLES & PATTERNS (10:00 – 20:00)
CRC Common Area
- Kairo, Solace, and Schema are struggling with a 2,000-piece puzzle.
- Kairo: “Why do we even start these? We never finish them.”
- Schema: “This one connects to cognitive perseverance… probably.”
- Solace: “This is our sixth unfinished puzzle.”
- Rose walks in: “Try finishing one puzzle before jumping to a new one.”
Schema asks: “Where’s Pax and Vita?”
- Rose: “They’re with Dr. Ezra checking on post-Rift behavioral anomalies.”
ACT 3 — CONSTRUCTION CHAOS (20:00 – 35:00)
At a suburban development site
- Dr. Ezra, Pax, and Vita meet the foreman, Victor Benson, after the CEO reports bizarre inefficiency.
- Pax grumbles: “Since when are we project managers?”
- Vita: “He probably wants to rule out mental factors.”
- Ezra: “The Rift doesn’t only strike in ways we understand. Minds aren’t binary.”
Victor defends his crew: “We’re working harder than ever!”
- Points to a dozen half-built houses.
- Ezra: “Maybe your boss is upset because everything’s started, but nothing’s done.”
- Victor, distracted: “Gotta check my next delivery—ordering gear for a new site…”
Pax and Vita look at each other—clearly something’s wrong.
- Ezra: “When did this behavior start?”
- Victor: “I think our delivery guy gave me the idea… he even made me an app.”
Victor abruptly walks off mid-sentence.
They call back to CRC.
- Rose says: “No major spikes where you are, but there’s an odd energy pulse… it’s bouncing all over the city grid.”
Suddenly, workers begin running in circles—cutting rebar, pouring half-driveways, switching tasks every few minutes.
- A delivery truck pulls up. The energy spike intensifies.
ACT 4 — SCATTER STRIKES (35:00 – 50:00)
They approach the delivery driver—he’s erratic, moving chaotically.
- “I’m fine! Just forgot something. No wait—I need to log this delivery. Or was it the last one?”
Vita: “That’s not fine.”
- Pax: “Relax. It’s not that deep.”
The man snaps: “Not that deep?!”
- He transforms into a jittering, glitching form—Scatter.
- The air distorts. Static pulses. Construction workers collapse into loops of activity.
FIGHT SEQUENCE — VITA & PAX VS. SCATTER
- Scatter launches burst-fire attacks in random sequences.
- Pax: “His patterns make no sense.”
- Vita: “Some attacks are interrupted. Others hit randomly—it’s unpredictable.”
They’re losing ground—Scatter overwhelms with speed.
Pax thinks: “He’s like… a corrupted routine. But if I control the timing… I can stabilize his loops.”
- Pax uses his field to slow and sync Scatter’s erratic movements.
- Vita channels focused strikes at timed intervals.
Together, they immobilize him briefly.
Dr. Ezra steps forward: “Ben, let us help. You’re not well.”
Scatter growls: “This is how I am now. And I’m DONE apologizing for it.”
- He unleashes a final wave and vanishes in a static blur.
ACT 5 — RESETTING THE BLUEPRINT (50:00 – 58:00)
Without Scatter’s influence, the construction team regains clarity.
- Victor looks around: “What were we doing? Nothing’s finished.”
- Ezra: “Sometimes, productivity is about focus—not chaos.”
- The crew thanks them and recommits to finishing their current project.
Back at CRC:
- Kairo, Schema, and Solace have finally completed the puzzle.
- Pax and Vita walk in.
- Vita: “See what happens when you focus on one thing at a time?”
- Schema: “You mean like Scatter didn’t?”
- Pax: “You wouldn’t believe how all over the place this was.”
Team laughs. Rose places a new puzzle box in front of them. “Next challenge?”
EPILOGUE (58:00 – 60:00)
Cut to a dark tech lab. Screens flicker. Scatter paces.
- “They want me to finish what I start? Fine.”
- He holds up a blueprint with Vital Five symbols.
- “I’ll finish them.”
