Season 1: Episode 7 (Pulse Edition)

Runtime: 60 minutes

ACT 1 — THE LOST THREAD (0:00 – 10:00)

Flashback: Ben Soto, Before the Rift

Meet Ben Soto, a brilliant, fast-talking multitasker with a head full of ideas and a dozen side hustles. He’s juggling jobs, designing apps, delivering food—all at once. His files are cluttered with unfinished projects, each one a spark that never quite caught fire.

Ben gets a promising interview for a design job. He misses it while helping his cousin move. Midway through, he remembers a freelance gig he forgot. He races from task to task, always starting, rarely finishing.

The night before the Rift:
Ben drives through the city, obsessively refreshing his notes app, jumping between design ideas. His thoughts scatter faster than he can catch them.

Suddenly, Rift energy hits. His mind fragments. Focus disappears. His body convulses—and Scatter is born: a being of fractured attention, living chaos, and infinite unfinished thought.

ACT 2 — PUZZLES & PATTERNS (10:00 – 20:00)

CRC Common Area:
The Vital Five sit around a massive 2,000-piece puzzle. It’s their sixth unfinished one.

Kairo (grumbling): “Why do we even start these things?”
Solace (smiling): “Tradition.”
Schema: “This reflects cognitive perseverance. Probably.”
Rose (walking in): “Try finishing one before you start the next.”
Schema (playfully): “Where are Pax and Vita?”
Rose (grinning): “Checking on Rift-related anomalies with Dr. Ezra.”

The group laughs and keeps puzzling. But Rose’s words hang in the air—a quiet mirror to the chaos-to-come.

ACT 3 — CONSTRUCTION CHAOS (20:00 – 35:00)

Suburban Construction Site:

Dr. Ezra, Vita, and Pax arrive at a site where the work’s stalled—even though everyone looks busy. The foreman, Victor Benson, waves at half-built homes.

Victor (defensive): “We’re working harder than ever!”
Dr. Ezra: “Everything’s started, but nothing’s finished.”
Pax (dryly): “Since when are we construction managers?”
Vita: “Rift-related dysfunction doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it just scatters people.”

Victor gets distracted mid-conversation—wandering off to chase a delivery.

Dr. Ezra (to Rose on the phone): “Any Rift pulses nearby?”
Rose (concerned): “Yes, but it’s unstable. It’s bouncing all over the city.”

They realize something deeper is disrupting attention here—something they can’t yet see.

ACT 4 — SCATTER STRIKES (35:00 – 50:00)

A delivery truck pulls up. The driver stumbles out, jittery and unfocused.

Driver (muttering): “Did I log this? Or the last one? Wait… I forgot something…”
Vita: “He’s not okay.”
Pax: “No kidding.”

Suddenly, the driver’s body spasms—his mind fractures—and he transforms into Scatter, a being of glitching motion and sensory overload.

Scatter (Ben, wild): “If I stop, it all crashes! I have to keep moving!”

Chaos erupts. Construction workers around them mirror Scatter’s breakdown—switching tasks, spiraling into frenzied action.

FIGHT SEQUENCE — VITA & PAX VS. SCATTER (50:00 – 55:00)

Scatter’s attacks are rapid and erratic, with no clear pattern.

Pax (shouting): “There’s no rhythm—just chaos!”
Vita: “We can’t predict him like this.”

The team struggles—Scatter’s movements disrupt time and space like static skipping on a tape.

Pax (thinking fast): “He’s a corrupted loop. If I control the timing…”
Vita: “Then we can hit back.”

Pax slows the chaos with a stabilizing field, syncing Scatter’s erratic bursts. Vita strikes precisely, bringing him to a halt.

Dr. Ezra (stepping forward): “Ben, let us help.”
Scatter: “No! This is who I am now—and I’m done apologizing!”

In a final static surge, Scatter vanishes, leaving the construction site—and the team—rattled.

ACT 5 — RESETTING THE BLUEPRINT (55:00 – 58:00)

Without Scatter’s influence, the construction workers calm down. They glance at their surroundings—unfinished homes, scattered tools, abandoned plans.

Victor (quietly): “What were we doing?”
Dr. Ezra: “Productivity isn’t chaos. It’s finishing what you start.”

Victor nods and calls his team together.

Victor: “Let’s finish what we started.”

BACK AT CRC: PUZZLE COMPLETE

The Vital Five return to CRC. The puzzle is finished. The mood is lighter.

Vita (smiling): “See? Focus helps.”
Schema (teasing): “Unlike Scatter.”
Pax: “It was chaos. But we figured it out.”

Rose drops a new puzzle box on the table.

Rose (grinning): “Ready for the next challenge?”

The team laughs—stronger for what they’ve learned.

EPILOGUE — SCATTER’S BLUEPRINT (58:00 – 60:00)

A dark tech lab.

Scatter paces, twitching in and out of focus. His mind is splintered—but something drives him forward.

Scatter (whispering): “Finish what I start… fine.”

He unrolls a blueprint—marked with Vital Five insignias.

Scatter (smiling grimly): “I’ll finish them.”
