  • Finds temporary peace in the home of Anika Drey, an older woman who fosters teens.
  • They bond briefly, but Elena begins showing signs of deep emotional instability.
  • One day, she returns home to find Anika gone. A neighbor says she “moved out overnight.” Elena feels betrayed and abandoned.

  • Kairo: “We should do a guys’ hangout.”
  • Captain: “You know I don’t like you, right?”
  • Dr. Ezra: “Live a little.”
  • They drag Trask out. He reads a sign: “8 miles?! You trying to kill me?!”

Meanwhile, at CRC

  • Rose, Solace, Vita, and Schema plan a spa day. Facemasks, music, tea.
  • Rose: “We’ve earned this.”

Suddenly: ALARM!

  • Rose checks the CRC energy system.
  • “There’s a massive Rift pulse coming from a residential home near 8th Street and Main.”
  • Solace: “Can we never get a break?”
  • Schema: “Spa day is officially over.”

ACT 3 — THE COOKIE TRAP (20:00 – 30:00)

At the address — an old cottage surrounded by cats.

  • They knock. Anika Drey answers. “Oh? Trouble? No, it’s just me and my babies.”
  • As they turn to leave: “Come inside. I’ll make cookies.”
  • Vita: “Can’t turn that down.”

Inside:

  • Cozy but eerie. A wall of children’s photos.
  • Rose: “Your grandkids?”
  • Anika: “Never had kids… just fostered. One was… hard.”
  • She stares off. “Why… why did you leave me?”
  • Solace whispers: “Something’s wrong.”

They try to leave.

  • Anika: “Don’t go! I never have company anymore!”
  • She throws scalding cocoa at them.
  • Her voice deepens.
  • “You think I’m a crazy old cat lady, don’t you?”
  • Her form glitches—then explodes in light.
  • Fracta emerges.

Fracta: “You left me when I needed you most.”

FIGHT SEQUENCE 1 — Solace, Vita, Schema vs. Fracta

  • Fracta’s energy bursts shatter energy space.
  • Schema’s logic fails. Vita’s mobility is warped. Solace is overwhelmed by echoes of abandonment.
  • Rose tries dragging Anika to safety.

ACT 4 — THE GUYS RETURN (30:00 – 45:00)

  • Rose is cornered.
  • Suddenly, Kairo and Pax crash through the window, blocking Fracta’s strike.
  • Solace: “Where have you BEEN?”
  • Kairo: “Top of the mountain. Literally.”

FIGHT SEQUENCE 2 — Vital Five vs. Fracta

    • Solace turns cold and sarcastic.
    • Pax becomes chaotic and impulsive.
    • Kairo gets emotionally erratic.
    • Schema becomes nihilistic.
    • Vita collapses under self-doubt.

As they fight each other, Fracta approaches Rose and Anika.

Fracta: “You’ll feel what I felt.”

Anika awakens.

  • “Elena… is that you?”

The word Elena sends Fracta spiraling.

  • Flashbacks of warm moments. Cooking. Laughing. Safety.
  • Fracta collapses, conflicted.

The Vital Five snap out of their distortion.

  • They coordinate a unified containment strike.

Fracta screams: “LEAVE ME ALONE!”

  • Bursts energy wave—blasts everyone back—and vanishes.

ACT 5 — A MOTHER’S REGRET (45:00 – 58:00)

Back inside:

  • Anika reveals Elena was her last foster child.
  • “She was troubled… but bright. I never wanted to leave her.”
  • Explains she fled from an abusive ex who kept finding them.
  • “I thought I was protecting her… but I didn’t get to tell her why.”

The team sits quietly.

  • Solace: “She felt abandoned. But she was loved.”
  • Anika breaks down: “She was my favorite. I failed her.”

Rose: “You didn’t fail her. You tried to protect her. That love still lives in her somewhere.”
